On the other hand, the locations are promised to be rich and vertical - you will be able to climb on rooftops, look for secret passages, and use magic to explore the territory.
What is particularly pleasing is the freedom to complete tasks. According to the developers, almost every quest can be started in different ways and completed in any order. The world does not adapt to the plot – important items can be found even before receiving the corresponding task.
The game will be available in Game Pass on the first day of release.

The authors of Life is Strange are going to present a new adventure with a big delay - Lost Records: Bloom & Rage. The game is divided into two "cassettes" that will be released at monthly intervals: the first on February 18, and the second on March 18, 2025.
The story unfolds in two timelines - 1995 and 2022 - and follows four friends and their relationships. According to the creative director Michel Koch, the developers want to recreate the atmosphere of series discussions, when viewers wait for the sequel together and build theories.
The game offers a high level of immersion in dialogues - conversations change depending on where the character is looking, you can interrupt interlocutors or ignore conversations altogether.
Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio is preparing a pleasant (maybe) surprise for the fans of the Yakuza series - a spinoff of the Like a Dragon series called Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. The main character is the legendary Goro Majima, who, after losing his memory, decided to become... the king of pirates in Hawaii. Well, it's quite logical for an eccentric bandit with a patch on his eye and the nickname "Mad Dog Shimano".
Unlike the last installments of Like a Dragon, Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii abandons RPG mechanics in favor of more dynamic action, closer to the classic installments of the series. Majima will be able to switch between two fighting styles: "Mad Dog" for traditional yakuza fights and "Sea Dog" for fencing with twin swords and using pirate arsenal such as hooks and firearms.
The usual Yakuza tones of mini-games will also be there. There will be karting, karaoke, and "crazy delivery". And those who pre-order will receive Ichiban Kasuga as a crew member and Nancy's pet lobster (!).
Monster Hunter Wilds

Capcom invites us to hunt again. Monster Hunter Wilds, announced at TGA 2023, promises to be the most ambitious installment in the series, where nature becomes as dangerous an opponent as monsters.
The story takes place in the Forbidden Lands, an unexplored territory where the guild sends an expedition after rescuing a boy named Nata who told them about a mysterious monster that destroyed his village.
The main feature of the game will be drastic changes in the environment: from hot Drought to devastating Bad Weather, from periods of abundance to times of survival. Monsters have adapted to these changes by forming packs and developing unique abilities. Hunters will also have to adapt - studying the behavior of creatures, exploring the area and inventing new hunting tactics.
Split Fiction

Hazelight Studios, the company that created It Takes Two and A Way Out, will soon show its new project Split Fiction. The main characters will be two writers, Mio and Zoe. Of course, something goes wrong, and the girls find themselves in the same simulation, where Zoe's fantasy world and Mio's sci-fi universe are bizarrely intertwined.
In addition to the main plot, side stories with new worlds and bosses are promised, each lasting 5-10 minutes.
Split Fiction, like the studio's previous releases, will feature a well-thought-out cooperative mode for two. However, there will be no microtransactions and "other crap," as Josef Fares, head of Hazelight Studios, put it. And as in the studio's previous projects, it will be enough to buy only one copy to play together.

"We will grow the game together from the moment it is born in early access," said game director and producer Hyunjun Kim.
On March 28, 2025, the game will be released on Windows PC, while the release date on consoles has not yet been announced.

There is no classic class system - any ability can be learned from mentors. Melee combat, Voice abilities, and even sniper ambushes are available in battle. However, the main threat of Arrakis - a giant sand worm - cannot be killed, only outsmarted. And for PvP fans, we created the Quicksand mode with a weekly change of landscape.

The game will tell the story of Jan Dolski, a simple worker who, after crash-landing on a distant planet, is forced to create alternative versions of himself in order to survive.
Each "alter" is a Jan who made a different choice at some point in his life. Each of them has their own motives, emotions, and character. Players will have to find a balance between the different versions of Jan, taking into account their strengths and weaknesses.
The developers promise a complex system of emotions, where each alter will react differently to events, creating unique stories for each playthrough. This approach to narrative has already proven itself in the studio's previous games. The game will have Ukrainian subtitles.
Dying Light: The Beast

The Beast will tell the story of Kyle Crane, the protagonist of the first part, who spent 13 years in captivity, undergoing cruel experiments.
The game will become a storyline bridge between the first and second parts of the series. The events take place in the gloomy region of Castor Woods, where players will have to confront the main antagonist - the Baron, the heir to a pharmaceutical dynasty.
Interestingly, The Beast started out as DLC for Dying Light 2, but has grown into a full-fledged 18-hour adventure. Because of this, the owners of the Ultimate Edition of the second part will receive the game for free, but the edition itself will be removed from sale on September 30. Dying Light: The Beast will support up to four players.

Mafia: The Old Country is set in early 20th-century Sicily, where the Mafia as we know it was born.
The protagonist is Enzo Favara, a sulfur mine worker looking for a better life. His story is fundamentally different from the fate of Tommy Angelo from the first part, a taxi driver who got into the mafia by accident. Enzo consciously chooses this path, guided by circumstances and his own aspirations.

Cronos: The New Dawn

Ghost of Yōtei

The game is set in 1603, 300 years after the events of the first part. The new location will be the island of Ezo (modern Hokkaido) near Mount Yotei. The protagonist will be Atsu, who wields twin blades and seeks revenge. The developers promise more control over the plot development than in the previous game, as well as an even more lively world with large-scale open spaces, realistic northern lights, and improved wind animation in the grass.

Grand Theft Auto VI

Although we have great doubts that Rockstar will make it to the end of the year, it would be strange not to write about this game in this selection. Because it is the most anticipated game of 2025, and possibly of any coming year.
The events of the new installment will take players to the familiar but modernized Vice City. The plot will revolve around the criminal story of a couple in love, which gives reason to expect not only classic action but also a deep emotional narrative. The gameplay will retain the traditional features of the series: an open world full of side quests and various activities. At the same time, significant technical improvements are expected: improved graphics, smarter artificial intelligence, and more realistic physics. And a female character for the first time in the series' history.
Even at the announcement stage, Grand Theft Auto VI promises to set new records in the industry. According to a Financial Times report based on data from the DFC Intelligence research group, the first year of GTA VI's release could bring developers about $3.2 billion in revenue, of which $1 billion will come from pre-orders. For comparison, the cult GTA V in 2013 took three days to surpass the $1 billion mark.
The game is currently scheduled to be released only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles, but of course, this is temporary.
Hell is Us

Players will have to rely on their own observation and advice from locals. The same approach is applied to puzzles - there will be no hints or clues. Hell is Us' combat system does not require as much from the player as soulslice games, but, as far as we were made to understand, it is still designed for more or less skillful control of a controller or keyboard.
Little Nightmares III

The development story of this game has already become a legend in the Chinese gaming world: initially, it was developed by a single developer, Yang Bin, but thanks to Sony's support program, the project turned into a full-fledged game from an entire studio. Hideki Kamiya, the creator of Bayonetta and Devil May Cry, even joined the development.
This is not an isolated case - Chinese games are increasingly demonstrating a high level of quality and original ideas. Just remember the success of Black Myth: Wukong, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty or Bright Memory: Infinite. Lost Soul Aside, which combines the dynamics of Devil May Cry with the scale of the new Final Fantasy, may be another proof of the growth of the Chinese gaming industry. Or maybe not.

After a not very successful experiment with Metal Gear Survive and a loud parting with Hideo Kojima, Konami decided to take up remakes. The first step is the Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection. The second is a complete "rethinking" of the third part of the series.
The plot remains unchanged: it's the Cold War, Soviet engineers are building the Krokokhod, a giant mobile platform for launching nuclear missiles, and the United States sends its agent, Nakida Snake, to stop the construction.
The gameplay will have two modes: Modern Style with modern controls and a free third-person camera, and Legacy Style with classic controls and a fixed camera, as in the original. They also promise to keep all the favorite mechanics of the original: camouflage, tactical use of weapons and gadgets, and, of course, tense moments of stealth.

Nintendo has finally announced that Metroid Prime 4 will be released in 2025, eight years after the first announcement.
The game was first shown at E3 2017, but in 2019, Nintendo took an unprecedented step by publicly announcing a complete restart of development due to unsatisfactory quality. The project was handed over to Retro Studios, the creators of the original Metroid Prime trilogy, and the process started from scratch.
It was only in July 2024, after years of silence, that Nintendo finally unveiled a new gameplay trailer. Metroid Prime 4 will be exclusive to Nintendo Switch, joining other successful titles in the series such as Metroid Dread and Metroid Prime Remastered.

The game takes place in an alternative version of the southern states of the United States, where local legends and myths become reality. The developers promise a deep dive into the rich mythology of the region.

The developers openly admit that the game will not be perfect at the beginning, but invite players to join the process of creating the game they will be interested in playing.
