Acer held the Next@Acer 2024 presentation at IFA 2024, where it showed new lines of devices, including AI-enabled laptops (a common trend at the exhibition), gaming models, a tablet, and even the manufacturer's first portable gaming console.
Traditionally, for such large Acer events, the presentation was hosted by the company's CEO Jason Chen, who invited various guests and team members to present all the new products.
Acer Iconia X12
The first such announcement was the Iconia X12 Android tablet. It has a 12.6-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 2560×1600 dots, a refresh rate of 60 Hz, and a peak brightness of 400 nits. As you can imagine, this is a model slightly above the entry level, its price in Europe will start at 369 euros. Judging by the platform with an 8-core MediaTek Helio G99 processor, 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM, and 128 or 256 GB of built-in eMMC storage with the possibility of expanding with microSD cards, the tablet is primarily designed for home use.
This is also confirmed by the presence of 4 speakers at once, which are well suited for watching videos and movies. Other features of the Iconia X12 include an 8-megapixel front and 13-megapixel main camera, Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.2 wireless modules. There's even built-in GPS for navigation.
The tablet has a built-in 10,000 mAh battery and weighs just 600 grams. It is also very thin at 6.7 mm.
Interestingly, despite its relatively low price, the Iconia X12 screen has no air gap, and the touch panel is laminated directly to the display matrix. It's still hard to say how fast this tablet's platform will be, but at least in terms of design and materials, it looks more expensive than it actually is.
Acer also plans to sell a case with a detachable keyboard with a touchpad and a pen for the Iconia X12. That is, the manufacturer is also counting on an audience that may consider such a tablet for work or creativity.
The next announcement was the expansion of Acer's Copilot+ PC laptop lineup, which was replenished with the Swift Go 14 AI model with Snapdragon X Plus processor, Swift 14 Al with AMD Ryzen AI 300 series and Intel Core Ultra 5 and 7, and Swift 16 Al, which can be configured up to Core Ultra 9. So let's take a closer look at each new product.
Acer Swift Go 14 AI
This is the first laptop from Acer to feature Qualcomm's affordable ARM processor, the Snapdragon X Plus. The model has an aluminum body with a minimum number of elements. Its finish is matte, and the lid of the display unit has only the Acer logo and a small pattern, which means that it is a laptop from the AI line.
By the way, another difference between Copilot+ PC and Acer is the light indicator in the form of a similar pattern on the touchpad, which lights up when the laptop is performing some AI-related calculations. It's a bit unusual and seems unnecessary, but the backlight is not strong and doesn't interfere with your work.
The Acer Swift Go 14 AI features a 14.5-inch IPS display with WQXGA (2560×1600 pixels) resolution. It has an aspect ratio of 16:10, which provides more vertical working space, a peak brightness of 350 nits, and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The manufacturer also promises 100% sRGB color space. For comfortable viewing, the display is equipped with Acer ComfyView technology, which reduces glare. Overall, this is a high-quality screen, but I would like to see a slightly higher peak brightness.
For video conferencing and calling, the laptop is equipped with a QHD (2560×1440 pixels) camera that supports 1440p video at 30 frames per second. Temporal Noise Reduction technology promises higher image quality in low light. Three built-in microphones and AcerPurified Voice 2.0 with intelligent noise cancellation are designed to improve voice transmission in noisy environments.
The audio system supports DTS X: Ultra and Acer TrueHarmony technology, and the two built-in stereo speakers provide quite loud sound, which is definitely enough for video.
The ports of the Swift Go 14 AI are located on the sides, on the right side they are: an audio jack for connecting headphones or a microphone and USB 3.2 Type-A.
The left side has USB 3.2 Type-A (supports charging other devices even when the laptop is in sleep mode), as well as two USB Type-C with USB4 support and charging capabilities.
For data security, the Acer Swift Go 14 AI features a fingerprint scanner with on-chip verification and a discrete Trusted Platform Module (TPM) built into the power button. A webcam shield provides an extra layer of privacy when you need it.
The laptop is powered by a Snapdragon X Plus processor with 8 cores and clock speeds up to 3.2 GHz and integrated Qualcomm Adreno graphics. The integrated Qualcomm Hexagon NPU AI accelerator with Qualcomm AI Engine delivers up to 45 TOPS performance, which accelerates AI-based applications, such as Paint with built-in image generation.
The laptop can also feature up to 32GB of built-in LPDDR5X memory with dual-channel support and up to 1TB of SSD storage with NVMe PCIe Gen 4 interface.
Other features of the platform include Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth version 5.4 wireless modules with support for Bluetooth LE Audio (LC3).
The Acer Swift Go 14 AI is equipped with a 3-cell 75 Wh lithium-ion battery with fast charging support. According to the manufacturer, the laptop can work up to 28 hours in video playback mode and up to 19.5 hours in web browsing mode.
The laptop measures 322.6 × 225.95 × 10-17.95 mm and weighs 1.32 kg.
Acer Swift Go 14 AI (SF14-01) will go on sale in Ukraine in November.
Acer Swift 14 AI
The laptop continues the tradition of the Swift series, offering a relatively thin and lightweight aluminum body in gray with a matte finish.
The laptop is equipped with a 14-inch display, available in two versions:
- OLED matrix with WQXGA resolution (2880×1800 dots), 16:10 aspect ratio and 500 nits brightness. The screen reproduces 100% of the DCI-P3 color space and has Display HDR True Black 500 certification.;
- with an IPS matrix with the same resolution, 400 nits brightness, and 120 Hz refresh rate. However, this screen can be touch-sensitive and supports 100% of the sRGB color space, which means it has a smaller color gamut.
The laptop's audio system consists of two speakers and supports DTS X:Ultra technology. For video calls, there is a QHD camera with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels and support for video at 30 frames per second, as well as three built-in microphones with AcerPurified Voice 2.0 intelligent noise reduction.
The Acer Swift 14 AI keyboard has a backlit island design that allows you to work comfortably in low light conditions. The keys have a pleasant stroke and are well spaced. The touchpad is medium-sized with a smooth surface and supports Windows 11 gestures. The top of the touchpad can also have a patterned light indicator that lights up when working with AI applications.
For data protection, the laptop is equipped with MSFT Pluton Security Processor as Firmware TPM and a fingerprint scanner built into the power button. There's also a webcam shutter.
The ports are located on both sides of the laptop. On the left side: two USB Type-C with USB4 support and charging, HDMI 2.1 and USB 3.2 Type-A.
On the right side: USB 3.2 Type-A and audio jack.
Acer Swift 14 AI is powered by an AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 processor with integrated AMD Radeon 880M Graphics. It can have up to 32GB of dual-channel LPDDR5X-7500 RAM and up to 2TB SSD with NVMe PCIe Gen 4 interface. The laptop supports Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless networks with Bluetooth LE Audio (LC3).
The OLED model is equipped with a 3-cell 75 Wh lithium-ion battery, and the IPS model has a 65 Wh battery. According to the manufacturer, the laptop can work for up to 27 hours in video playback mode and up to 18.5 hours when browsing the web.
With dimensions of 312.9×222.11×10-17.9 mm and a weight of 1.32 kg, the Swift 14 AI is a rather portable solution.
Acer Swift 14 AI (SF14-61/T) will go on sale in Ukraine in October with a starting price of UAH 55,999.
Swift 14 Al та Swift 16 Al
Since the Swift 14 Al with Intel chips has the same design as the AMD version, I won't focus on it. I will only note that the manufacturer promises even greater autonomy in this model - up to 29 hours of video playback and up to 23 hours of web browsing. This laptop will go on sale in Ukraine in November with a starting price of UAH 56,999.
The Acer Swift 16 Al is a 16-inch Copilot+ PC in Acer's lineup that has a fairly slim body and weighs just 1.5 kg. It has the same minimalist design as the rest of the new Swift line. The body is also aluminum, but it has a darker color, which may cause fingerprints to be visible.
The Acer Swift 16 Al has a fairly large glass touchpad and an island-type keyboard with a number pad. For some reason, this is a popular format among manufacturers of 16-inch Windows laptops, and perhaps there is some feedback from users. But for me, for example, it's more convenient when the typing keys and touchpad are in the center of the panel, not offset to the left.
The laptop has two speakers located on the bottom of the case. They are quite loud, but, as in other models with a similar arrangement, the sound also depends on the surface on which the device is placed.
The set of ports is the same as in the 14-inch model. On the left side are: HDMI 2.1, USB 3.2 Type-A and two Thunderbolt 4. The right one has a USB 3.2 Type-A and an audio jack.
The 16-inch Acer Swift 16 Al display has a 3K OLED panel with a refresh rate of 90 Hz, 16:10 aspect ratio, the ability to reproduce 100% of the DCI-P3 color space, and TrueBlack 500 HDR certification. Depending on the modification, the laptop can have either a regular or a touch screen.
The laptop will be available in a fairly wide range of configurations with Intel Ultra 9 288V, Ultra 7 258V, Ultra 7 256V, Ultra 5 228V, and Ultra 5 226V processors. All of them will offer integrated Intel Arc graphics, up to 32 GB of LPDDR5X-8448 RAM, NVMe PCIe Gen 4 storage up to 2 TB, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 wireless modules with Bluetooth LE Audio support.
Acer Swift 16 Al has a built-in 3-cell 75Wh lithium-ion battery with fast charging support.
The laptop will go on sale in Ukraine in October with a starting price of UAH 55,999.
Acer TravelMate P6 14 AI
Another model announced at Acer's presentation is the TravelMate P6 14 AI business laptop weighing only 0.99 kg and with compact dimensions of 313.7 x 229.3 x 15.90-16.65 mm. Overall, it is one of the lightest laptops in its class, which was achieved thanks to the use of carbon fiber in its body.
As you might expect from a business model, the design here is restrained, without unnecessary elements.
The lid of the display unit features the Acer logo and a pattern that hints that this is a Copilot+ PC model.
For connecting peripherals and accessories, the laptop has the following set of ports: two USB Type-C USB4 Gen2 (with Thunderbolt 4 support), two USB Type-A 3.2 Gen1, HDMI 2.1, and an audio jack for headphones or a microphone.
The TravelMate P6 14 AI features a 14-inch display with a 16:10 aspect ratio and is available in two resolutions:

- WUXGA (1920x1200 dpi) with the same brightness and color gamut characteristics.
The screen has an anti-reflective coating that reduces glare and increases comfort when working in brightly lit rooms or outdoors.
Above the display is a QHD 1440p webcam that supports video at 30 frames per second. Staggered High Dynamic Range (SHDR) and Temporal Noise Reduction (TNR) technologies promise better images in different lighting conditions. For added privacy, a curtain is provided that physically covers the camera when not in use. The three-microphone array is designed to provide clearer voice transmission during video conferencing.
Acer TravelMate P6 14 AI is powered by Intel Core Ultra (2 series) processors with Intel AI Boost and Intel Arc graphics. There will be configurations with Intel Core Ultra 7 268V, 266V, 258V, 256V, as well as Ultra 5 226V.
The laptop will have up to 32 GB of dual-channel LPDDR5X RAM, and it will have up to 1 TB of SSD storage with an M.2 interface.
The TravelMate P6 14 AI's wireless capabilities include support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4.
The laptop is equipped with a 4-cell 65 Wh lithium-ion battery with fast charging support. According to the manufacturer, battery life is up to 14 hours based on MobileMark 2025 test results.
As a business laptop, the Acer TravelMate P6 14 AI features a discrete Trusted Platform Module (TPM) and Acer ProShield Plus service, which provides additional data security. The chassis also has a Kensington lock hole that allows you to physically secure the laptop in public places.
The Acer TravelMate P6 14 AI (TMP614-54/T/TCO) laptop will go on sale in Ukraine in January 2025 for a price starting at UAH 61,999.
Acer Nitro Blaze 7
Acer's next announcement at the presentation was the Acer Nitro Blaze 7 portable gaming console. The company has become a new player in this market, which is expected to develop quite actively.
Coming back to the Nitro Blaze 7, the model looks massive, but in fact its dimensions are 25.6 × 11.35 × 2.25 cm and weighs 670 grams, so you can easily carry the console in your backpack.
Nitro Blaze 7 has a 7-inch IPS touchscreen with Full HD resolution (1920×1080 pixels), 144Hz refresh rate, and 500 nits of brightness. The screen supports 100% sRGB color space and AMD FreeSync Premium technology for a smoother gaming experience.

Acer Nitro V 16
A 16-inch laptop from the same line, but with a slightly different aesthetic due to the use of black color. The body of the model is also plastic, but it is larger and has a numeric keypad on the keyboard.
Acer will offer the Nitro V 16 with two versions of the IPS display. One with a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, 400 nits brightness, 180 Hz refresh rate, and 100% sRGB color space display. The second one has a lower resolution of 1920×1200 dots, 300 nits brightness, 165 Hz refresh rate, and 100% sRGB coverage.
The laptop is equipped with 13th generation Intel processors: Core i7-14650HX or Core i5-14450HX. The laptop is equipped with a 57 Wh lithium-ion battery, the manufacturer does not specify the level of autonomy, but it will not be great, given that this is a gaming model.
The dimensions of the Acer Nitro V 16 are 361.24 × 278.4 × 24.74 -25.46 mm, and it weighs 2.5 kg.
The model will be available in Ukraine in October with a starting price of UAH 62,999.
At the presentation, Acer also showed one more thing, which was the concept of a Project DualPlay laptop with a wireless gamepad built into the case. There are no details about the characteristics of this system, and most likely we will not see it in the format of a finished product this year. But as a concept, DualPlay is quite interesting.
The touchpad area in this laptop is detachable, turning into a wireless gamepad, in which the right and left halves are also detachable, just like the Joy-Con in the Nintendo Switch.
It's hard to say how convenient it is to use such a gamepad, because at the exhibition it was only possible to take pictures of it.
This was Acer's presentation at IFA 2024, and most of the new products will be available in Ukraine in September-October, so we are looking forward to testing them.
