The PhoneBuff YouTube channel never misses an opportunity to compare the performance of the most interesting flagship smartphones. This time, the iPhone 16 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra passed the traditional automated test.

The comparison consists of launching the same set of applications and performing a minimum number of actions (starting a game, loading a page, quickly processing a photo, exporting a video, etc.) on each device. Most of these actions are familiar to users and are performed by modern devices. All of this is automated and is intended to demonstrate which of the contestants is able to complete all of the tasks assigned to them faster.

Then the cycle is repeated in reverse order when the applications are already loaded in the RAM. The total time for all the allotted steps determines the smartphone with the best performance.

So now it's the turn of the new Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra to compete with last year's iPhone 16 Pro Max.

Previously, Samsung's flagships lost the test with a minimal lag. But it was only a matter of a few seconds. This time, it was the iPhone that lagged behind. And compared to previous years, the loss is more significant than the old victories.
