Steam to warn players about abandoned games in early access before purchase
Steam has started to warn customers about early access games that have not received updates from developers for a long time and may be abandoned. This was discovered by the SteamDB aggregator.
The Steam Early Access Program undoubtedly helps indie developers and small studios realize their ideas without significant funding. Players have the opportunity to support the game by purchasing it, which allows them to finance the further development of the project.
Good examples of such games are Hades II, Manor Lords, and even Baldur's Gate III. Less successful ones are DayZ, which has been in early access for 5 years, or Project Zomboid, which has been in early access for 12 years (although it has been receiving regular updates).
