And the first thing you can see is that the game is no longer set in some conventional Western country, but in Ukraine in the early 1990s, or more precisely, in the Poltava region. In the BEYONDER universe, the government of independent Ukraine handed over a secret Cold War-era bunker to an American corporation to conduct experiments. After the disaster, the facility lost control of its anomalies, and the aggressive consequences have to be neutralized by a special forces unit. In other words, it's almost a game in the SCP universe set in Ukraine.
The Special Forces are an elite paranormal cleansing squad equipped with heavy weapons, tactical gear, and modern technology. Their goal is to find and destroy the source of anomalous activity, the Nest.
Morphs are predators from the other side, endowed with supernatural powers and the ability to adapt to any threat. They feed on the bodies of the dead, which makes them stronger with each fallen Spetsnaz. Morphs will defend the Nest at all costs and change throughout the battle.
The Special Forces begin the game on the offensive, moving deeper into the complex to locate the Nest and capture the generators that provide resources and strategic advantages. But time is not on their side. The longer the search goes on, the more bodies are left on the battlefield. Each corpse is fuel for the Morphs, making them faster, stronger, and more dangerous. If the Special Forces fail to burn the bodies or destroy the Nest in time, the roles are reversed - the Morphs go on the offensive, storming the remaining human defenses.
