Apple Self Service Repair Store has tools for self-repair of current Mac models with M4 chips
Since Apple was forced to provide customers with options for self-repairing gadgets, the manufacturer has launched a separate service called SPOT - Service Parts or Tools, or Self Service Repair Store. However, not all new devices immediately receive the necessary set of tools. It so happens that for current Mac models with M4 chips, which were released last year, details have only just begun to appear. This was reported by 9to5Mac.
Therefore, SPOT now offers the necessary tools and parts for the M4 Mac mini, M4 iMac, and both diagonals of the current MacBook Pro versions. The service conveniently allows you to enter the serial number of the device to make sure that the customer receives the right components for their model.
However, it should be borne in mind that, as before, the cost of certain things will not be very "comfortable". For example, it is quite possible to find a torque screwdriver for less than $100, with an additional set of accessories. Of course, similar items are not too difficult to find on eBay or other platforms with much lower price tags.
In the meantime, you can still check out iFixit, but certain parts may not be available there. However, you can still find tools with more reasonable prices. There are also manuals for certain repairs. Although Apple offers no less clear instructions for self-diagnosis and repair of devices.
