AMD processors are in high demand among users who prefer to build their own PCs. That is why the share of the manufacturer's processors in the DIY (Do it yourself) segment is usually significantly higher than the overall average. Recently, the popularity of AMD chips has only increased. The available statistics on processor sales in the large German MindFactory network is yet another confirmation that Intel will have to work hard to regain the favor of desktop users.

In the first month of this year, a total of 25,625 desktop processors were sold in the retail network. At the same time, 23,615 AMD chips (92.16%) and 2010 Intel processors (7.84%) were sold. The average price of an AMD CPU was €352, while the average price of an Intel CPU was €290. The corresponding total revenue by manufacturer: AMD - €8,300,674 (93.45%), Intel - €581,959 (6.55%).

As for the popularity of platforms, the lion's share (71.84%) was taken by AM5 CPUs. AM4 chips accounted for just over 20%. Among the Intel processors sold, the vast majority belonged to the LGA1700 platform. There were 1,745 of these chips purchased, accounting for 6.81%. As for the new LGA1851, only 185 chips belonged to the Arrow Lake-S family, which is only 0.72% of the total. Here we could discount the recent announcement of the platform, but the first LGA1851 chips went on sale at the end of October last year. Chips for LGA1200/1151 are upgrade options, so it's not surprising that their number is insignificant in the overall picture (55 and 25, respectively).

The distribution by specific CPU models is very interesting. Obviously, German users liked the new 8-core Ryzen 7 9800X3D chip with additional 3D V-Cache. In just a month, 8390 of these processors were sold online, which is actually a third of the total. Obviously, the initial stage with the shortage of this model is over, and even the high price (€579) does not stop people from wanting the most productive gaming CPU.

The next positions are also for AM5 models equipped with 3D V-Cache - Ryzen 5 7600X3D (2430 units) and Ryzen 7 7800X3D (1640 units). Processors with a significantly increased L3 buffer are in particular demand.

Ryzen 5 7500F takes the fourth place. The available 6-core for AM5 does not need a separate introduction, so the 1030 chips implemented are not surprising.

The most popular processor for Socket AM4 is the Ryzen 5 5600 (780), but models with additional third-level cache are also in demand here. The Ryzen 7 5700X3D chips in Tray and WOF shipments sold a total of 1230 units.
