Google CEO Sundar Pichai said during his financial report that Google's search service is actively developing in the direction of artificial intelligence. In 2025, Search should become an AI-based assistant, TechCrunch reports.

During the presentation, Pichai spoke about the next stage of Google's plan to equip Search with artificial intelligence features from the company's DeepMind research lab.

Gemini will feature Deep Research, an AI agent that will search for and analyze information at the user's request. A similar feature was recently introduced by OpenAI and is included in the CgatGPT Pro package for $200.

Pichai noted that Google has a "clear idea" of the search experience that the company can create with the help of another Google AI agent, Project Mariner, formerly known as Jarvis. This system can use the interface of websites on behalf of users and perform tasks.

Google also has big plans for Project Astra. The company claims that it wants the multimodal AI system to one day become the basis for smart augmented reality glasses.
