Back in September 2023, EA announced that most of Criterion's employees would join the development team of the next Battlefield game. DICE and Ripple Effect studios are also working on the game. The project is headed by Vince Zampella, the creator of some of the best shooters in history, including Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and Titanfall 2.
A small part of the Criterion studio continued to work on Need for Speed Unbound. However, support for the game has already been completed, and now the entire studio will focus on the development of the next Battlefield installment.
Nevertheless, Zampella reassures players that the racing franchise will return with renewed vigor and will not disappoint its fans.
