Apple topped the list of best-selling smartphones in 2024

In 2024, Apple smartphones took 7 out of 10 positions of the best-selling smartphones of the year, according to a report by analytics company Canalys. The sales leader of that year was the iPhone 15, GSMArena reports.

Samsung was the only company to overtake Apple in 2024. The list includes Galaxy A15, A15 5G, and S24 Ultra smartphones.

It is estimated that a total of 1.22 billion smartphones were shipped in 2024, of which 3% were iPhone 15. The second and third best-selling smartphones were the iPhone 16 Pro Max and 15 Pro Max.

The last place in the top ten was taken by the three-year-old iPhone 13, which accounted for 1.5% of total global smartphone shipments or 18.3 million units.
