Farming Simulator VR announced
GIANTS Software, the developer of the popular farming simulator series (which already has more than a dozen mainstream games on PC and consoles, not counting mobile releases), has announced its first project in virtual reality - Farming Simulator VR.
This will be a new game in the series that will offer familiar gameplay, but entirely in VR. Players will cultivate fields of crops such as corn, wheat, and soybeans using real agricultural machinery from well-known manufacturers such as Case IH, CLAAS, Fendt, John Deere, and others, and will control it directly from detailed cockpits.
The equipment will also require maintenance, so virtual farmers will repair it, replace parts, and keep it clean.
In addition to farming in the fields, players will also be able to grow tomatoes, eggplants, strawberries, and other crops in greenhouses, which can be harvested by hand and put into boxes for sale.
Farming Simulator VR is being developed for the Meta Quest platform and will be available on Quest 2, 3, 3S, and Quest Pro headsets on February 28 - pre-orders have already started, and the game is currently available at a 10% discount, for $22.49.
