NordVPN has announced that it is launching NordWhisper, a new VPN protocol that the company says is capable of bypassing sites and networks that detect and block VPN traffic.
According to NordVPN, NordWhisper is based on "web tunneling technology." The company says that the new protocol "mimics normal web traffic, making it harder for network filters to detect."
Most VPNs use the OpenVPN or WireGuard protocols, which can be recognized by some websites that do not allow VPN traffic. As a result, such sites may either slow down the connection speed or block it completely if they detect that you are using a VPN. In addition, many public networks have VPN filters, which means that some public Wi-Fi networks do not allow the use of VPN services.
NordWhisper aims to bypass these filters. However, NordVPN warns that this protocol may be slower than others. Therefore, the company will continue to support other VPN protocols.
The NordWhisper protocol will be gradually implemented, starting with Windows, Android, and Linux devices.
