Microsoft announced its financial statements for Q2 2025 of the fiscal year ended December 31, 2024. The company's revenue amounted to $69.6 billion, up 12% year-on-year.
Operating profit amounted to $31.7 billion, up 17% year-on-year. The company also saw a 10% increase in net income to $24.1 billion. Productivity and business services brought the company $29.4 billion, up 14% year-on-year.
Revenue from Microsoft 365 Commercial products grew by 15% and from cloud services by 16%. LinkedIn revenue also grew by 9%. Revenues from Microsoft 365 Consumer also grew by 8%.
The company's CEO Satya Nadella said that AI revenue grew by 175% year-on-year to $13 billion . At the same time, due to the growth of the artificial intelligence industry, revenue from Azure and other cloud services grew by 31%.
Where things are not going so well is in the company's gaming division. Gaming revenue fell by 7%, and Xbox console sales fell by 29%. At the same time, the company's games and services, such as Game Pass, showed encouraging results. Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 was the best-selling game on Xbox and PlayStation and attracted the most players on release in the franchise's history.
In addition to this, Microsoft reported that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which was released on December 9, 2024, has already been played by more than 4 million players. At the same time, more than 140 million hours have been played thanks to the Xbox Cloud Gaming offer.
Game Pass set a record quarterly profit, and the number of PC subscribers grew by 30%. Overall, revenue from Xbox games and services grew by 2%.
Microsoft also reported that revenue from Windows sales to computer manufacturers and from sales of its own devices, such as Surface laptops, increased by 4%. The company says that this increase was higher than expected and was due to the fact that support for Windows 10 is ending and more manufacturers are moving to new systems.
