To receive the label, VPN apps must pass a level 2 Mobile Application Security Assessment (MASA) check, which assesses the security of applications.
Applications must also have at least 10,000 installs and 250 reviews, be published on Google Play for at least 90 days, provide information on how they collect user data, and agree to independent security checks.
VPN apps from Nord, hide.me, and Aloha have already received this verification icon.
By the way, VPN services are now very popular, in particular among American users who install them to access TikTok, which has not yet returned to Google Play and the Apple App Store.
