As expected, after a month of testing, the iOS 18.3 update became available to all iPhone owners. As expected, the update will primarily be of interest to users of newer models with Apple Intelligence support, as this is the functionality that the manufacturer is currently paying the most attention to.

Therefore, with the iOS 18.3 update, users who have not yet activated Apple Intelligence will no longer have to do so, as artificial intelligence is now enabled by default. If the user is not satisfied with this, they can disable Apple Intelligence in the corresponding settings menu.
Earlier, Apple shared plans for the new version of the OS and met expectations. One of the most important moments was the updated Notification Summaries feature. For some time now, this feature has been disabled for the news and entertainment category because the AI could make a very gross mistake. The feature will return for such applications later.
Now, when you activate it, the system will make it clearer that it is still a beta version (like all other Apple Intelligence features), which may contain errors. And it will now be easier to unsubscribe from it - from the lock screen or notification panel via the Options button. And to further distinguish the summarized notifications, their text will be italicized.
Another feature, Visual Intelligence, which can be tested by users of iPhone 16 smartphones, can now add an event to the Calendar after "scanning" a flyer or poster, and recognizes more types of plants and animals.
Smaller fixes include: the built-in Calculator can now repeat an action if you tap the equal sign again; a bug with the keyboard disappearing; and Apple Music no longer mistakenly plays a song to completion even if you close the app.
As a reminder, Apple Intelligence in iOS 18 is still not available in all countries. At the end of October 2024, it was planned that Apple Intelligence features would become available to iPhone users in the European Union in April, and theoretically to users in Ukraine as well. However, support for the Ukrainian language is out of the question.
