Netflix plans to add new gaming offers to its subscription service, including streaming of cooperative games and games for companies. This is stated in Netflix's financial report for the 4th quarter of 2024, The Verge reports.
The streaming service has been offering cloud gaming to its subscribers since 2023, but this offer is still in beta and available only to a certain number of subscribers. One of the Netflix CEOs, Greg Peter, said that the company plans to further invest in this area.
Peter did not say when exactly the new games could be expected, but said that the company "think of this as a successor to family board game night or an evolution of what the game show on TV used to be."
In addition to new cloud games, Peter noted that Netflix will also continue to create more story-based games based on popular franchises of the service. According to the CEO, subscribers like such games and the company has a large library for future projects.
