Samsung Unpacked 2025 was expected to show a lot of new devices, but the company only announced the new Galaxy S25, S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphones and the S25 Edge teaser. However, in a separate interview with Bloomberg, Samsung's mobile division president TM Roh confirmed that the company is working with Google on augmented reality glasses.
Roh did not go into details of the upcoming device and did not say when the glasses could be expected, but noted that Samsung and Google are "trying to achieve the desired quality and readiness as soon as possible." He also noted that the glasses will be released as part of the companies' efforts to jointly develop the Android XR operating system.
The new glasses will be a separate device that is not related to Project Moohan, the augmented reality glasses that Samsung and Google first unveiled back in December 2024. Roh noted that the company has not yet decided on the price and release date of the XR headset, which will compete with Apple's Vision Pro, but the release is likely to take place in 2025.
Roh also noted that the two companies involved in Project Moohan are currently working with third parties to make sure that the XR headset will have plenty of content and apps at release.
We remind you that the day before, there were reports that Meta is also preparing a lot of new smart devices, including smart glasses that can cost $1000.
