Mortal Kombat 1 is the latest game in the popular fighting game series. It was released in September 2023. According to Ed Boon, the creative director of NetherRealm Studios, the game has sold more than 5 million copies to date. This figure is significantly lower than that of the previous installment of Mortal Kombat 11, which was released in April 2019 and had more than 8 million sales in approximately the same period of time:

Recently, there were rumors that sales of the Khaos Reigns expansion pack, which includes a set of Kombat Pack 2 fighters, did not meet the developers' expectations and that support for the game would be phased out after the release of the Terminator T-1000. Judging by the same series of posts, perhaps not everything is so bad. Yesterday, Conan the Barbarian with the appearance of Arnold Schwarzenegger became available to players. And, as Boone writes, "we're excited to continue working on future DLC." Perhaps he's referring to the T-1000, or perhaps something more ambitious. After all, one character doesn't seem to be enough for a whole DLC.

Mortal Kombat 1 is now available on PC (Steam, EGS), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch.
