Meta is developing a new line of smart devices, including AI glasses for athletes created in collaboration with Oakley. The company is also working on a smartwatch to compete with Apple, Samsung, and other brands, and on headphones with built-in cameras, Bloomberg reports.

First of all, the company plans to bring Ray-Ban smart glasses to new markets. It will also introduce new models based on the existing Sphaera model by Oakley. These glasses will have a camera in the center and will be aimed primarily at cyclists and other athletes.

A much bigger novelty will be the glasses that are known inside Meta under the codename Hypernova. These will be smart glasses similar to Ray-Ban, but of a more premium class. They will have a display in the lower right part of the lens that will show various information, notifications, simple apps, photos taken, and more.

Hypernova's capabilities will bring users much closer to the real experience of augmented reality, but the price will be quite high. Some Meta employees involved in the development of the glasses suggest that their cost will be around $1000.

Meta is also testing the possibility of controlling the glasses through a bracelet with the working name Ceres. The company plans to offer Hypernova with two control methods: a sensor element on the frame temple and a bracelet included in the package. Meta demonstrated a similar approach in the Orion augmented reality glasses concept presented last year.

The glasses can also be controlled using a smartwatch, which Meta plans to release. The company has been working on this device for several years, but its implementation has been repeatedly postponed due to changing concepts and project cancellations. Now Meta intends to present the smartwatch in 2025.

The Orion concept glasses will never go on sale. Instead, Meta is working on a new device based on this concept, which is known by the codename Artemis. The new model is expected to be announced in 2027.

Meta also plans to enter the market of wireless headphones equipped with cameras. Thanks to built-in cameras and artificial intelligence, these headphones will be able to analyze the environment and answer user questions. However, the company faces challenges, such as the use of the device by people with long hair and the correction of the camera angle. Earlier it was reported that Apple and other companies such as Samsung have similar plans.
