According to various sources, this year we can expect another new model in Apple's smartphone lineup - the iPhone 17 Air. The smartphone is supposed to be the thinnest among other iPhones.
The 9to5Mac publication, citing insider Majin Bu, shows the first image of the iPhone 17 Air case.
Among the significant changes in the photo, you can see an unusual camera unit for the iPhone, which resembles that of Google Pixel smartphones, except that it is located higher on the panel.
However, the insider himself writes that he cannot determine the exact model. But the single-camera notch suggests that this is the iPhone 17 Air, not the regular iPhone 17 (because the basic iPhone models have an additional ultra-wide-angle camera). Earlier this month, an insider also mentioned that this year we can expect the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro/Max, and iPhone SE 4 (which may also be called the iPhone 16E/16SE/17 Air).
However, it is difficult to rely on this information. It's too early to say what the final look of the new iPhone lineup will be, as we're still 8 months away from its launch and a lot can change. However, as 9to5Mac notes, a similar camera unit design has already appeared in renders, and various sources have shown an updated camera design for the entire new lineup.
As for the iPhone 17 Air, the body of this model is expected to be about two millimeters thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro, which is 8.25 mm thick. The new model is expected to appear in the spring of 2025 along with other flagships of the manufacturer.
