Samsung is considering using a 1/1.5-inch 200-megapixel ISOCELL sensor for the telephoto camera in future smartphones. This is reported by SamMobile, citing an insider.
Given that major camera updates are usually implemented first in top Ultra models, the Galaxy S26 Ultra is likely to receive a new 200-megapixel camera.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra will reportedly feature a 200MP primary camera, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 10MP telephoto camera, and a 50MP super telephoto camera.
The ideal option for Galaxy S26 Ultra is a main camera with a resolution of 200 MP, an ultra-wide-angle camera with a resolution of 50 MP, a telephoto camera with a resolution of 50 MP and a super telephoto camera with a resolution of 200 MP.
However, even if this happens, Galaxy S26 Ultra will not be the first smartphone with a 200-megapixel telephoto camera. The vivo X100 Ultra, vivo X200 Pro, and Honor Magic 7 Pro already use such sensors.
