According to the report, OLED displays did not boost iPad Pro sales as much as Apple had expected, so the company decided to postpone the introduction of this expensive technology in the MacBook Air.
Although the MacBook Air is likely to remain on LCD technology for the next four years, the report claims that Apple intends to introduce Oxide TFT technology in 2027 models. This upgrade will provide better color accuracy, higher contrast, more uniform display brightness, and reduced power consumption for longer battery life. So, while there will be no OLED, the MacBook Air will still receive significant display improvements in two years.
As for the MacBook Pro models with OLED displays, they are expected to be introduced in 2026.
