TikTok will be the main sponsor of an inaugural party in honor of influencers and bloggers who supported Donald Trump during his campaign. TikTok will spend $50,000, and the party will take place on Sunday, January 19, when the law banning the social network in the United States is set to come into effect, Politico reports.

The party, called the Power 30 Awards, will be held at the Sax restaurant in Washington, DC. In addition to influential bloggers and influencers, the event is expected to be attended by Shu Ji Chiu, CEO of the company, and Alex Brusewitz, an adviser to the Trump campaign.

Discussions about the possibility of banning TikTok in the United States began during the first presidency of Donald Trump, but he failed to achieve this goal. When the attempt was repeated, the future US president changed his position and began to defend the social network.

In particular, he registered an account on TikTok, claimed that he wanted to keep the social network in the United States, and even asked the Supreme Court to suspend the blocking decision. In addition, Trump said that when he becomes president, he may issue an executive order that would postpone the blocking.

Now the parent company of ByteDance has two days to sell the social network. If the company fails to do so, the social network may be completely shut down for users in the United States on Sunday, January 19, 2025.

It should be noted that other tech giants are also trying to win Donald Trump's favor. For example, Google and Microsoft donated $1 million each to the inauguration of the future president, and Meta stated that the Trump administration supports freedom of speech and is ready for partnership. Also, we shouldn't forget about Elon Musk, who constantly supports Trump, which contributed to the growth of Tesla shares by 73%.
