NVIDIA reports that more than 80% of users of GeForce RTX 20-40 series graphics cards use DLSS technology for image scaling, according to The Verge.

NVIDIA notes that today, RTX graphics card owners have access to more than 540 games and programs that support DLSS technology. The company also reports that players have spent more than 3 billion hours playing games with this technology, which has been integrated into 15 of the 20 most popular games of 2024.

Despite the company's claim that more than 80% of video card owners use DLSS, the actual number of those who do so consciously is probably much lower. The technology is automatically activated in supported games if users choose NVIDIA's standard settings. In addition, many developers use DLSS as a way to compensate for optimization shortcomings that have remained unresolved for months.

DLSS, or Deep Learning Super Sampling, is an image scaling technology that uses deep learning algorithms to increase real-time resolution in selected video games. It was first introduced with NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20 series graphics cards.

With the release of GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards, NVIDIA will also introduce DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation support, which will generate up to three additional frames per traditional frame. The technology will also offer an updated Reflex 2 system and many other improvements.
