LinkedIn, the world's largest professional network, has launched artificial intelligence-based tools to help job seekers and recruiters. The new Jobs Match tool will provide personalized advice to its 1 billion users, helping them determine whether to apply for a particular job, TechCrunch reports.

The company is also launching an AI recruiting agent targeted at small businesses to help automate the hiring process. This tool works like a virtual recruiter, helping businesses create job descriptions, search for qualified candidates, and manage applications. Both tools will be free to use for all LinkedIn users, not just premium subscribers.

Unlike some of LinkedIn's previous AI features that were built with the support of OpenAI, the new tools are built exclusively on LinkedIn's own models and are based on data from the platform's users. According to Rohan Rajeev, Director of Product Management at LinkedIn, the company may integrate external data sources in the future, but for now, it relies only on its own database.

According to LinkedIn, 5 million users have now activated the "looking for a job" feature on their profiles, which is 40% more than last year. Every week, 67 million users search for jobs on the platform, and 2.5 million small businesses use LinkedIn to find staff. At the same time, despite its massive user base, LinkedIn has had difficulty attracting active job seekers and recruiters, in part due to the complexity of the application process.

The Jobs Match tool aims to solve this problem by helping candidates focus on jobs where they have a higher chance of success. Meanwhile, the AI recruiting agent offers small businesses an automated solution to manage the hiring process without the need for an in-house HR team. Both tools are expected to simplify the process for both job seekers and employers.
