Thus, the new 6-core belongs to the Raphael chip line, is equipped with six cores with Zen 4 architecture and supports multi-threading technology, which in the current configuration allows the chip to process up to 12 data streams simultaneously. The developers chose a frequency formula of 3.7/4.7 GHz for the basic 6-core processor. Belonging to the Raphael family implies a multi-chip layout with a separate CCD containing computing cores and an additional I/O Die. The processor is equipped with 32 MB of L2 cache, supports PCI-E 5.0 bus, and has a TDP of 65 W.
The "F" in the model name means that integrated graphics are deactivated, so a discrete graphics card is required to run the system with Ryzen 5 7400F.
The only difference between Ryzen 5 7400F and the popular Ryzen 5 7500F is a more modest frequency formula - 3.7/4.7 GHz vs. 3.7/5.0 GHz, and a lower acceleration rate under 1/2-core load. Otherwise, there is no difference. And this is frankly good news, because Ryzen 5 7500F is almost an ideal option for entry-level gaming configurations. The only thing that prevents it from getting into this category is its high price for this class of systems. If the Ryzen 5 7400F turns out to be slightly more affordable than the older model, it will be a good offer for this class of PC.
We would like to remind you that despite the "Regional Availability - Global" statement on the website, Ryzen 5 7500F chips are not available in all regions, and they are usually intended for OEMs and system integrators.
In Ukraine, this model is also offered for sale mostly in a tray version, or MPK configuration with an additional cooler. The current retail price of the version without a cooler is UAH 7,500 (~$175).
Global availability was initially announced for the Ryzen 5 7400F, and the presence of a photo with retail packaging in the CPU description gives us reason to expect official shipments of the model in this variant. If the actual price turns out to be lower than that of the Ryzen 5 7500F, the new, more affordable chip will have every chance of repeating the success of the older model. AMD has not yet indicated the recommended price for Ryzen 5 7400F.
