According to MP1st, a remake of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Virtuos studio is working on the project, and the remake is based on Unreal Engine 5.
The rumors appeared back in September 2023, when Bethesda's plans for DOOM Year Zero, Dishonored 3, and some other projects became known through leaked documents from the US Federal Trade Commission. And now, a year and a half later, MP1st claims to have additional information that was "mistakenly" provided to it by a former Virtuos employee who worked on the Oblivion remake in 2023-2024.
According to him, the game will be completely redesigned, including the main game mechanics, including the interface, archery, blocking, sneaking, etc. For example, the blocking system was inspired by ideas from the souls-like genre and other action games. That is, by all indications, this will be not just a remaster for modern platforms with updated graphical options, but a seriously revised version of the classic role-playing game.
The resource believes that the remake of The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion will not be shown at the upcoming Xbox Developer Direct event, which will take place at the end of January, but the game's release, according to other rumors, can be expected in June this year.
