Mercedes assistant will get integration with Google Gemini

Mercedes-Benz is expanding the artificial intelligence functionality of its MBUX voice assistant through a partnership with Google Cloud. The new Automotive AI Agent, powered by Gemini, will be used for the enhancement.

Automotive AI Agent from Google Cloud is optimized for the needs of the automotive industry. In particular, this agent can use data from Google Maps to provide users with more accurate and personalized answers about navigation, points of interest, and other aspects.

Thanks to improved search and navigation capabilities, Mercedes owners will be able to use the MBUX assistant to answer questions such as "Show me the nearest restaurant with unique cuisine." Drivers will also be able to ask additional questions, such as reviews, specialties, and other details.

The new features of the MBUX assistant will be available in Mercedes' CLA series later this year. We would also like to remind you that at the end of 2024, the automaker already introduced an expanded set of AI features for its assistant, but then in partnership with Microsoft.
