Ukrainian studio VG Entertainment announces Forest Reigns, a new single-player first-person shooter with survival elements and a branching story. It will be a game with a stunning storyline, universe exploration, survival, RPG elements, and, on top of that, an interactive environment. The project has already received a Steam page and an official website.
Forest Reigns is set five years after a pandemic that nearly wiped out humanity. Players are transported to Paris, where primeval landscapes are intertwined with the deadly traps of the conscious world. Adaptation will be essential to survive the constant dangers of the forest.
The game combines intense FPS battles, survival crafting, and a non-linear story. VG Entertainment states that thanks to all these factors, Forest Reigns will create an immersive gaming experience, during which each mission and exploration of the distorted corners of the metropolis will reveal new secrets.
Among the game's features is a live forest location, which will not just be a background, but can become both an ally and an enemy. Everything will depend on how players treat it. Nevertheless, resources will always be limited and players will face danger at every turn. You will always need to plan ahead, craft and collect all possible resources.
In addition, in Forest Reigns, players will experience fierce shootouts with realistic weapon control and a wide selection of customized equipment. In order to survive, you will need to constantly improve your arsenal and increase combat efficiency and aiming.
This is a single-player game, so players will also have a non-linear storyline with dozens of missions and the opportunity to join one of four factions, each with its own vision of the future of humanity. Each decision made by the player will also affect the ending.
We remind you that VG Entertainment, formerly known as Vostok Games, is a Ukrainian studio that was founded in 2012, after the unexpected closure of the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 project, by people from GSC Game World. Previously, the studio has already released two online projects - Survarium, a free-to-play first-person online multiplayer shooter, and Fear the Wolves, a competitive battle royale. Survarium's servers, which had been operating since 2015, were shut down only in May 2022, and since then the studio has been working on a new project, which turned out to be Forest Reigns.
Currently, the release date of Forest Reigns is unknown, but the game can already be added to the Steam wishlist. In addition to that, the game also got its first gameplay trailer.
