The official launch of NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards is approaching. The announced graphics adapters based on the Blackwell architecture should go on sale on January 30, while the first independent reviews will appear a week earlier - on January 24. On this day, materials evaluating the capabilities of the new graphics flagship, GeForce RTX 5090 32 GB, will be published.
The developers' initial plan was somewhat different. It was expected that the results of the 16GB GeForce RTX 5080 would be released first, followed by the capabilities of NVIDIA's top-of-the-line solution. However, according to certain leaks, the final BIOS release for GeForce RTX 5080 was ready only at the end of December last year, which required additional time for video card manufacturers. As a result, the final release and launch date for GeForce RTX 5090 and GeForce RTX 5080 became the same, but the schedule of the previous stages changed slightly.
So, GeForce RTX 5090 reviews are expected on January 24. At the same time, there will be meta-reviews for both models with MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price) and more expensive modifications. Also, there will be no differentiation between Founders Edition and "all others". In addition, there will potentially be reviews of the GeForce RTX 5090D version with lower AI performance that will be offered for the Chinese market.
On January 29, we will publish reviews of the reference GeForce RTX 5080, as well as MSRP versions. And on January 30, simultaneously with the launch of GeForce RTX 5090/5090D/5080, reviews of tuned and correspondingly more expensive modifications and GeForce RTX 5080 will be available.
