The new feature was spotted in the beta version of WhatsApp 2.25.1.26 for Android. The feature will be called AI Character and will work similarly to the function of creating personalized chatbots on Instagram.
When creating a chatbot, WhatsApp will ask users to describe its functions and main purpose. By integrating this process right into the app, WhatsApp intends to make creating AI-powered chatbots accessible to everyone, regardless of technical skills.
Users will be able to describe their AI character in detail, defining its functions and features that make it unique. For example, they can choose whether the AI should focus on productivity, entertainment, or personal assistance.
WhatsApp is also planning to add helpful tips for users who may need inspiration or guidance to get started, so that even those unfamiliar with AI can participate in the process. These tips may include ready-made templates or examples of popular AI profiles to guide users through the process.
It is currently unknown when this feature will be available to all users. It is also not available in the beta version as it is still under development.
