Since last year, Qualcomm has been releasing more affordable variants of its flagship processors, which were labeled with the letter "s" in the name. In the previous generation, it was Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, which was positioned as a more affordable alternative to the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It looks like the company will soon announce the Snapdragon 8s Elite, as reported by Notebookcheck with reference to Digital Chat Station.
According to the source, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Elite will not receive Oryon cores, like the top-end Snapdragon 8 Elite. Instead, the configuration will include Cortex-X4 and A720 cores. The configuration by cores and frequencies is expected to be as follows: 1x3.21 GHz+3x3.01 GHz+2x2.80 GHz+2x2.02 GHz, and Adreno 825 will be used as a graphics accelerator.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Elite is expected to score about 2 million points in AnTuTu. And in Geekbench 6 - 1967 points for single-core and 5827 points for multi-core tests. The processor will have about 20% lower performance than the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Compared to the previous flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Elite will be slightly more powerful in processor tests, but slightly inferior in graphics tests.
Xiaomi, Honor, iQOO, and OPPO are already developing smartphones with Snapdragon 8s Elite. Their announcement is expected to take place in April, and accordingly, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Elite will be presented a little earlier.
