Samsung is preparing to launch a new folding smartphone that will fold twice. The company plans to assemble about 200 thousand copies of the future device and present it in 2025, The Elec reports.
According to the Korean newspaper, on Monday, January 13, Samsung shared plans for a triple-folding smartphone with major component manufacturers and is now coordinating the schedule.
Samsung has reportedly set the production plan for its first “dual-folding foldable phone” (Tri-Fold), scheduled to launch this year, at around 200,000 units. Production of Tri-Fold components is expected to begin in the second quarter.

The device will have a display of about 10 inches when expanded.
The new Samsung device will compete with the Huawei Mate XT, which has one screen that closes outward and one that folds inward.
It is also expected that Samsung will speed up the mass production of the Galaxy Fold 7 smartphone to have more time to develop the tri-fold device. By the way, one of the main difficulties in creating tri-fold smartphones is the need to make the parts even thinner than for conventional folding models.
