As a reminder, the current iPhone 16 Pro lineup offers three cameras in the back: 48 MP for the main and ultra-wide-angle sensors, and 12 MP for the telephoto. If the information about the next model is confirmed, then all the sensors of the iPhone 17 Pro will be equal in terms of resolution.
Moreover, as previously reported, this approach will be applied only to the largest iPhone 17 Pro Max model. But updated data indicates that the smaller version of the iPhone 17 Pro will have similar cameras.
The front cameras will double their resolution (up to 24 MP) and use 6-element lenses instead of the current 5-element ones. This should improve image clarity by reducing possible image distortion.
