The new MSI Raider 18 HX and Raider A18 HX feature 18-inch MiniLED displays with a resolution of 3840x2400 pixels, 16:10 aspect ratio, and 120Hz refresh rate. They are also covered by 100% DCI-P3 and have VESA DisplayHDR 1000 certification.
Above the display, you can find an infrared FHD webcam that supports 1080p video at 30 fps with HDR and 3D Noise Reduction+ technology. The laptops also have a fingerprint scanner. On the case, you can also find 6 speakers designed by Dynaudio, 1 combined audio jack, and a gaming keyboard designed by SteelSeries with RGB backlighting and a separate Copilot button.
Given the size of the screen and the 99.9 Wh battery, portability is not something you'd expect from the new MSI Raider. In addition to its considerable size, 404 (W) x 307.5 (D) x 24~32.05 (H) mm, the new device weighs 3.6 kg. At the same time, owners of laptops will need a large 400W power adapter.
In addition to a large battery, the laptops have up to 96 GB of DDR5 RAM divided between two slots, as well as two NVMe M.2 storage slots - one PCle Gen5 x4 and one PCle Gen4 x4, but the company has not yet specified the storage options. The laptops can also be equipped with the recently introduced NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 16GB GDDR7 and RTX 5090 24GB GDDR7 graphics cards.
The differences between the MSI Raider 18 HX and MSI Raider A18 HX models are in the processors and derivative elements. The 18 HX version will be equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX processor. This allowed the company to add two Thunderbolt 5 ports with DisplayPort and Power Delivery 3.1 support, as well as an Intel Killer Wi-Fi 7 BE1750 module.
The Raider A18 HX received the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX chip. Because of this, instead of two Thunderbolt 5 ports, this model has 2 USB4 Type-C ports with the same DisplayPort and Power Delivery 3.1 support. AMD Wi-Fi 7 module was also used here. Other ports that will be the same on both models include an Ethernet port of up to 2.5GbE, three USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A and one HDMI 2.1 (8K@60Hz / 4K@120Hz) port. Also, both versions of MSI Raider support Bluetooth 5.4.
In addition to the Copilot button and the AI prefix in the name, MSI Raider 18 HX and A18 HX have new AI capabilities, including MSI AI Robot. Developed in collaboration with NVIDIA, this integrated assistant will help you manage your laptop with familiar queries even when not connected to a network. At the same time, MSI has announced AI Noise Cancellation Pro to improve sound and AI Engine, which should make it easier to set up and manage the device.
Unfortunately, there is currently no information on prices and launch date for MSI Raider 18 HX and A18 HX in Ukraine.
