NVIDIA CEO hints that the company may enter the processor market

- 8 January, 02:40 PM

During a meeting with investors, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang said that the company has big plans for an ARM-based processor developed jointly with MediaTek. This was reported by Reuters.

This processor is used in the new supercomputer for working with artificial intelligence Project Digits, which NVIDIA presented at CES 2025. Huang said that MediaTek will be able to sell this processor for other products, while NVIDIA has its own plans for it.

The Project DIGITS computer is not aimed at the mass market. It runs on a Linux-based operating system used by AI developers. Huang told analysts that these developers are the main target audience for NVIDIA and Project DIGITS.

However, Huang also said that NVIDIA has further plans for its desktop processor, and the company will share them in the future.

Later, during the Q&A session, he added that NVIDIA believes it can bridge the gap between Linux and Windows operating systems.

‘We're going to make it a core product,’ says Jensen Huang, ’and we're going to support it with all the tools we use to support professional and high-quality software, and PC manufacturers will make it available to end users.
