At the CES 2025 First Look event, Samsung introduced Vision AI, an AI-based feature set for smart TVs, alongside its new flagship Neo QLED 8K TV, the QN990F.
According to Samsung, Vision AI represents the next step in the company's journey to create intelligent and intuitive displays. Samsung's TVs will be able to understand the surrounding environment, adapt to user preferences, and autonomously offer intuitive features.
Key features of Vision AI will include "Click to Search," which instantly provides information about the content on the TV screen, and "Live Translate," which will offer real-time subtitle translations. Users will also have access to generative and dynamic wallpapers for their TV screens.
Among other additional features presented by Samsung, "Home Insight" stands out. This feature will provide real-time updates about the home environment, including safety notifications and daily reports.
The "Pet and Family Care" feature allows users to monitor loved ones, detecting unusual behavior in both pets and family members. For instance, it can adapt the environment, such as automatically dimming the lights when someone falls asleep.
To enhance the viewing experience for movies, videos, and other content, Samsung Vision AI uses artificial intelligence to analyze the content and environmental conditions. This enables TVs to automatically optimize image and sound quality for the best possible experience.
Samsung Vision AI will be available on many of the company's TV models, including Neo QLED, OLED, QLED, and The Frame. The new flagship model, Neo QLED 8K QN990F, will feature additional functionalities, such as 8K AI Upscaling Pro, adaptive sound, HDR mode, improved color reproduction, and a special AI mode.
