Roborock has announced the Saros Z70, a new robot vacuum equipped with a robotic arm capable of picking up small objects scattered on the floor.

The Saros Z70 features "the first-of-its-kind mass-produced, five-axis robotic arm." The arm, called OmniGrip, can unfold, extend, and rotate both horizontally and vertically to grab objects and remove them from the path. The robot detects items using a camera and LED lighting, then determines their weight with additional sensors.

The Saros Z70 can lift socks, small towels, or napkins, but only those weighing up to 300 grams.

Roborock plans to expand the list of items the robot can recognize and lift, but there is currently no information regarding the maximum weight. The price of the Saros Z70 has not been disclosed yet, but the company promises to start the first shipments by June 2025.

Among other features, the Saros Z70 will have 22,000 Pa of suction power, a dual anti-tangling system for the roller brushes, and dual rotating mops. The new Roborock robot is 8 cm tall and has the AdaptLift chassis, which allows it to climb high thresholds in rooms. The robot will come with the multifunctional Roborock 4.0 dock station, which will charge it, empty its dustbin, refill water, and clean the mops.
