LG has announced that at CES 2025, it will unveil an updated lineup of portable LG gram laptops designed for work. These laptops will be the company's first to feature built-in AI capabilities directly on the device. Additionally, they will be powered by updated Intel processors, Arrow Lake and Lunar Lake.
The updated models include the LG gram Pro 2-in-1 (16T90TP), gram Pro (17Z90TR), gram Pro (16Z90TS), and gram Book (15U50T). These devices will feature built-in AI functionalities, including gram chat, which allows data processing and analysis locally on the laptop without the need for an internet connection.
Moreover, they will come equipped with cloud services, including a Cloud-based chat bot powered by OpenAI's GPT-4o model. The first year of using the chat bot will be free.
The gram chat feature will operate using a compact language model built on LG AI Research's large language model EXAONE. According to the company, this will ensure efficient and secure local data processing for quick, accurate responses and easier laptop management. For more extensive and detailed responses, the system will utilize cloud-based solutions supported by vast web databases.
The new LG gram laptops will also see significant performance improvements with Intel Core Ultra H series processors (Arrow Lake), optimized for general use, and Intel Core Ultra V series processors (Lunar Lake), tailored for AI functions. Specifically, models equipped with Lunar Lake will feature Copilot+ capabilities.
The standout model in the 2025 LG gram series will be the LG gram Pro, a slim and lightweight laptop powered by Arrow Lake processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 graphics. It will feature a 17-inch WQXGA display, up to 32 GB of RAM, storage up to 2 TB, and a 90 Wh battery. Additionally, the lineup will include a more portable 16-inch model, marking the first Copilot+ computer in the entire LG gram series.
Another addition is the updated 16-inch LG gram Pro 2-in-1. It will feature the same processors as the 17-inch Pro model but will utilize Intel Arc graphics. Additionally, this is the only laptop in the new lineup to offer an OLED display option.
LG also announces the LG gram Book, which will be more budget-friendly than other models. This laptop will come with a 15.6-inch FHD display, a 51 Wh battery, Intel Core i5 processor, Intel XE graphics, storage up to 1 TB, and 8 or 16 GB of DDR4 RAM, in contrast to LPDDR5X in all other models.
