NVIDIA plans to release new compact Jetson Thor computers for humanoid robots in the first half of 2025. This move is reported by TechCrunch, citing FT.

This step is part of NVIDIA’s long-term strategy for growth. According to NVIDIA’s Vice President of Robotics, Deepu Talla, the company does not intend to compete directly with robotics manufacturers like Tesla or Figure but aims to provide "hundreds of thousands" of manufacturers with OEM solutions.

This initiative is driven by recent advancements in artificial intelligence and the ability to train robots using simulated environments, which can sometimes occur up to 430,000 times faster.

For NVIDIA, this step represents a strategy to ensure continued success as major companies like Google and Amazon attempt to replace NVIDIA chips for AI with their own developments.

It is worth noting that earlier, the company introduced its Jetson Orion Nano Super supercomputer, priced at just $250, offering a performance of 67 TOPS.
