Google may add Gemini Live to the desktop version of Chrome. This was revealed by insider and data miner @Leopeva64.
The hint comes from the appearance of a new section, GLIC, in the browser settings. Clicking on this section opens a separate window with its own interface and settings page, allowing users to manage access to the microphone, among other features.
Over a month ago I spotted Google working on a new feature for Chrome codenamed "Glic", which COULD BE Gemini Live in Chrome, well, this feature will have its own page in Settings with several options, here's a first look at this new page:https://t.co/fXROn0vvW9 pic.twitter.com/5CTRcaGtRZ

The GLIC section was discovered on Chromium Gerrit, a platform for storing Chromium project's open-source code. Since then, it has received several updates, including a custom icon in the system tray and keyboard shortcut customization.
It's important to note that this is all currently speculation based on the hypothetical decoding of GLIC as "Gemini Live in Chrome." Google has not made any official statements regarding this feature.
