Nothing is working on several new smartphones. While flagship models already use Snapdragon chips, the budget smartphones with the "a" suffix were previously equipped with MediaTek, but, as reported by Android Authority, this is set to change.

In the latest Nothing OS 3.0, based on Android 15, references to upcoming devices were found. System files mentioned code names such as asteroids, asteroids_plus, and galaga. The first two correspond to Nothing Phone 3a and Phone 3a Plus, while galaga refers to a smartphone from the budget sub-brand CMF.

In addition to device code names, it was also revealed that the Phone 3a and Phone 3a Plus will feature Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 processors. Meanwhile, the budget CMF Phone 2 will continue using MediaTek chips.

Additionally, it was learned that the Phone 3a might include a telephoto camera, while the Plus model could feature a periscopic zoom camera. If these details are confirmed, they would be the first smartphones from the company to include a dedicated optical zoom sensor.

Furthermore, Nothing Phone 3a and 3a Plus may become the company's first smartphones with eSIM support. Users will be able to choose between two nano-SIM cards or a combination of nano-SIM and eSIM.
