xAI, Elon Мusk's AI company, has started testing a separate iOS app for the Grok chatbot. The new app is currently in beta, reports TechCrunch.
The app is available for download in Australia and a few other countries. Unfortunately, it is not yet available in Ukraine. The standalone app offers all the same features as users can get through X: free image generation, web search, a playful conversational tone, text assistance, and more.
The app description also mentions a strong focus on privacy. Grok is described as an AI assistant designed to be "maximally truthful, helpful, and inquisitive."
xAI's chatbot recently became available for free to X users. Previously, only X Premium subscribers had access.
One of the key features of the chatbot is its image generation capability, which, unlike most competitors, has very few restrictions. Grok allows users to create quite controversial images, such as Pikachu with weapons, images featuring Disney and Nintendo characters, or even images with Elon Musk and other famous figures. These capabilities have recently been enhanced with the Aurora model.
