The new Kia Syros compact crossover is distinctive in its exterior design (some might say unconventional or unattractive), but it boasts a well-crafted and modern interior. Typically, such vehicles are highly sought after in various markets, and the first to experience the new Kia Syros will be Indian consumers – as the model is primarily designed for the Indian market.
The dimensions are compact, with a length of 3995 mm, allowing it to fit into a budget-friendly category, which is especially popular in India. Despite its small size, the focus is on maximizing practicality. Thus, the Kia Syros features a short hood but a spacious and modern interior.
The new Kia Syros features an interior packed with modern amenities. It boasts three screens in the front – a pair of 12.3-inch main displays and an additional 5-inch screen. Wireless charging, climate control, and ventilated seats are included, enhancing the comfort of the cabin. Additionally, the rear seats are movable, and the cargo space is a generous 465 liters, which is impressive for such a compact vehicle.
However, the technical specifications of the Kia Syros are quite straightforward. It offers a choice between a 1.0-liter 120-horsepower gasoline engine or a 1.5-liter 116-horsepower turbocharged diesel engine, paired with either manual or automatic transmissions depending on the engine option, and only front-wheel drive is available. An electric version of the Kia Syros may be introduced in the future.
The question for the future, especially for markets outside India, is whether Kia plans to expand the Syros beyond the Indian market. Given its features and practicality, the Kia Syros could certainly find a niche in markets like Ukraine.
