The Xbox App for Windows has a new design that Microsoft began testing at the end of October 2024. The update should make it easier to find new games and return to familiar ones. Also, almost 400 new games have been added to the program.
The updated homepage will inform players about new releases, events, content for Game Pass subscribers, discounts, and other relevant offers. In addition, the company will offer customized collections, including the first collection of casual games, as well as recommendations and the ability to quickly return to the latest games.
General Manager of Content and Program Management at Xbox, Chris Charla, said that since the summer of 2024, the company has started working with partners to add all Xbox games available on PC to the program. Thanks to this update, about 400 games have appeared in the store, which were previously not available either in the Microsoft Store or in the program itself.
Among the hundreds of new games, there are also more than 100 projects that support Xbox Play Anywhere. This means that more than 100 games purchased through the program on PC can be played on consoles and vice versa.
"And with the growth of the Windows handheld gaming category, it’s a great way for developers to meet current and future players where they are, so they have the freedom and ability to play the games they want, with the friends they want, anywhere they want," says Charla.
