Today, December 11, 2024, Apple announced the release of the stable version of iOS 18.2. The update was tested for six weeks.
With the release of iOS 18.2, Apple continues to expand the capabilities of Apple Intelligence. For example, the system received an application for creating stylized images called Image Playground. The developers have also added a set for creating custom Genmoji emojis, integrated ChatGPT into Siri, and introduced the Visual Intelligence feature that will identify objects and places around you using the iPhone 16 camera.
Apple also improved the Writing Tools feature and added support for localized English for Apple Intelligence in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.
The update also includes improved Mail, Photos, Safari, and many bug fixes. A detailed list of changes is available here.
iPhone owners will start receiving the iOS 18.2 update in the near future. You can check for the OTA in the device settings.
By the way, along with iOS 18.2, Apple also announced iPadOS 18.2 and macOS Sequoia 15.2 with similar features.
