Games Workshop and Amazon have agreed to create a series based on the Warhammer 40000 universe. Henry Cavill will play the main role in the series and will also act as an executive producer. This was reported by Deadline.
The negotiations lasted a long time. Throughout 2024, the companies agreed on the direction of franchise development. The parties even had to agree on a deadline for negotiations - December 2024.
”My incredible team and I, alongside the brilliant minds at Games Workshop, have been working away in concept rooms, breaking down approaches to the enormity and magnificence of the Warhammer world," Henry Cavill writes. "Together, we’ve been sifting through the plethora of incredible characters and poring over old tomes and texts. Our combined efforts have led us to a fantastic place to start our Universe, which has been agreed upon by those up on high at both Amazon and Games Workshop."
Warhammer 40000 is a science fiction universe created by Games Workshop for the extremely popular board game. This is a gloomy and cruel reality where humanity is in a constant struggle for survival.
Henry Cavill is one of the biggest fans of the game in all of Hollywood. He was actively involved in negotiations between the companies.
