We have repeatedly written that Apple is planning to release the iPhone 17 Air with a thin body in 2025. Now, Bloomberg journalist and insider Mark Gurman has shared new details about this device.

According to the leak, the iPhone 17 Air will be 2 mm thinner than the iPhone 16 Pro. The iPhone 16 Pro has a body thickness of 8.25 mm, so the new product will be about 6.25 mm. This will make the iPhone 17 Air Apple's thinnest smartphone yet. Previously, this title was held by the iPhone 6, which was 6.9 mm thick. With the introduction of the iPhone X and subsequent models, Apple's smartphones have become thicker as Apple has increased the thickness to provide more room for the battery, camera lenses, Face ID hardware, and more.

It is also known that the iPhone 17 Air will receive a proprietary 5G modem. By the way, Apple is considering adding it to Mac computers in the future. The smartphone will also have only an eSIM, one camera, and one speaker - the top one.

The iPhone 17 Air will be released in September 2025. The device will debut alongside other iPhone 17 models.
