A new image generator Aurora has appeared in social network X

Grok chatbot, which is available to X users, has a new Aurora image generator. This was reported by TechCrunch.

Aurora is capable of generating images of licensed characters such as Mickey Mouse, Nintendo characters, and famous media personalities. The model is focused on creating realistic images.

The developers did not disclose details about the process of creating the image generator. It remains unclear whether they trained the model on their own or, as in the case of the first Flux image generator, engaged third-party partners.

"This is our internal image generation system," Elon Musk writes in X. "Still in beta, but it will improve fast."

Like other image generation models, Aurora has difficulty reproducing human hands. In addition, artifacts sometimes occur when objects in an image look unnaturally merged with each other, which may indicate an artificial origin.

The release of Aurora came after X opened access to Grok to all users. Previously, the chatbot was only available to X subscribers for $8 per month. Now, free users can send Grok up to 10 messages every two hours and create up to 3 images per day, while subscribers have no restrictions.
