Ukrainian HealthTech startup CheckEye won the EIT Health InnoStars Awards 2024 and became the first company from Ukraine to receive pan-European recognition at this competition. This is stated in the company's announcement.
Founded in 2022, CheckEye uses artificial intelligence for mass screening of chronic diseases. The platform combines the experience of Ukrainian practicing doctors and prominent scientists of the Filatov Institute with technologies that ensure the accuracy and scale of analysis.
"Two years of innovation in the midst of a full-scale war have proven effective in Ukraine and have been recognized by Europe. This victory opens up opportunities for scaling our experience to the EU and the rest of the world," said Kyrylo Honcharuk, founder and CEO of CheckEye.
He also added that the victory confirms the potential of Ukrainian technologies. Combining the experience of doctors and scientists with the capabilities of AI in the area of mass screening of chronic diseases "creates the foundation for preserving the quality of life of millions of people around the world."
The EIT Health InnoStars Awards is a leading program established by the European Commission in 2016 that supports startups from Central, Eastern and Southern Europe. The program aims to foster innovation in the healthcare sector by providing access to international markets, partnerships and funding.
